Hot springs resorts
The most important Trentino hot springs resorts, apart from the famous Levico Terme are: Roncegno, Pejo Terme, Rabbi, Ponte delle Arche, with many kinds of therapeutic waters. The Levico Terme and Roncegno waters are based on iron and arsenic, the Pejo Terme ones are based on iron, bicarbonate and have an alcaline base. The Rabbi waters are based on bicarbonate and carbon-dioxide. All these waters were famous thanks to their therapeutic virtues in the XVII century already. Moreover, these waters were already bottled and shipped to various Austro- Hungarian cities. The first thermal baths were built in the XIXth century; the European –especially German, Austrian and British – upper classes met here very often.
